Collaborations
This is a story that weaves a few things close to our heart together: Blue Mountains, supporting our local Aboriginal community, creativity and local cultural events.
Seeing Thomas Mayo at the Blue Mountains Writers Festival was the catalyst for this project. Annette was inspired and loved the practical guide of Thomas Mayo's book Always Was Always Will Be, and was lucky enough to hear Thomas talk at the Festival as well as meet him briefly.
Our pilot project is to use our skills and platforms to continue to keep our local Aboriginal culture and reconciliation front & centre. We source and fund the production of merchandise using local artist/s for a 10% share. The rest of the profits go to the artist. We’re also very, very close to confirming an Aboriginal organisation to produce the merchandise, doubling the impact.
Our first collaboration is with Gundungurra Artist Kelsie to produce some authentic Blue Mountains merchandise for visitors and locals! ’We are in the blue’ is an original artwork by Gundungurra Artist Kelsie. We’ve produced a range including a postcard, blank greeting cards (perfect for any occasion), a tote bag & fridge magnet.
The cards would be beautiful in a small frame as well!
